Hi everyone! I am glad to show you my first musictrack from LGPT. Here I used only simple waves in oscillator mode and 2 drum samples. Piggy tracker the best!

btw, whether somebody knows how to make vibrato in LGPT? Because LGPT has no separate command for this purpose. I tried to make it so

LEGA 0000
LEGA 000C
HOP

in table, but this way it sucks.... Do you have any suggestion of it?

10:48 am - Tie ja vaeltaja deluxe edition!

villisavel

Just a quick note:
I made remastered versions of the tracks on my recent release so that they sound better on soundsystems... And also makes it possible to enjoy the music on more usual music players.

Enjoy!

3:37 pm - 1.1d_39 out

nostromo
New 1.1c_38 version (aka 'the wolfie fuzz') is out.

New feature:
  • There's a new command 'IRTG' to use in tables

IRTG stands for instrument retrigger and will retrigger the current instrument. It gives table the ability to work as progammable phrases that then can be triggered simply by changing tables.

IRTG --yy: will retrigger the current instrument transposed by yy semi-tones. Note that each IRTG transposition is cumulatively added. So a table with

IRTG 0001

in it will keep going a semi tone up. Great for dubby echoes :)

The retriggered instrument is NOT reset (as if you enter a note with no instrument number). The table (obviously) will continue to run and all running variable (filter, etc) won't be reset

This system is also pretty useful to implement temporary non 4/4 signature without having to switch grooves, since you have the ability to re-trigger the instrument at tick resolution

and don't forget trying to combine it with complex hop structure !

Works both with audio & midi instruments

Bug fixes
  • MIDI on PC: Because MIDI on PC is a bitch to synchronise and that the ONLY system that kind of worked was, surprisingly, the old MMSYSTEM audio system, I've re-enabled it as an option. So, if you need good midi sync or good timing, you will NEED to use this. The latency isn't great but in our case it's not a problem. To enable the old ass audio system, add an entry in the config.xml with
  • <AUDIOAPI value='MMSYSTEM' />

Then you should enjoy pretty stable midi out

  • PSP doesn't lock anymore when using the exit.
  • Fixed the cloning an empty note bug
  • Now mute states are reset when reloading a project
Updated PSP,GP2X,WIN,MAC,DEB

Enjoy !
M.

nostromo
Maintenance release with the following fixes:

[GP2X]: Fixed bug with negative offsets on notes
[ALL]: Added master transpose value affecting all channels
[OSX]: Finally Brought ghetto up to speed
[ALL]: Fixed most glitches with SDL display
[WIN/OSX/DEB]: added a SCREENMULT setting in the config.xml allowing to enter a multiplying factor (integer) to scale the output window. Ext

<SCREENMULT VALUE="2"/>

Windows users warning : I'm still moving the midi code to RtMidi so don't upgrade if you have a working midi setup

6:25 pm - 1.1b_37 out

nostromo

1.1b_37 is in the ghetto section for GP2X/PSP/W32/DEB.

Here's the list of changes:
  •  Allowed multiple selection for note and instrument editing in Phrase Screen
  •  Fixed syncronisation problem between the main thread and the player thread. This fixes the problem that tracks could go out of sync when doing rendering at full speed (not using RT). It might also generally improve the stability for heavy pounders
  • Rendered files are now located in the project folder.
  • Fixed tempo to be more precise: before, tempo vs. sample count transformation was rounded to integers. This meant that exporting a track at 80 BPM would end up to something close to it but not exactly it, which could be a hassle if trying to use renderings in DAWS. Now it's totally accurate. It might be that the track's feel is slighlty different, so let me know if there's something in concert for your ears
  • Updated the note map to be always show (for consistency). Mute track are now also shown by having both the octave & instrument number shown as "--"
  • Cached some file attributes to make samplelib browsing faster on PSP.
  • Fixed audio volume in preview so that it doesn't destroy your ear. Now it's played at half volume which correspond to the default 128 volume of instruments

Sorry for the mac users but as I don't have any easy access to a mac with Xcode, you are always a step behind !

Let me know of any issues
M.

I just recieved this mail from Kim Ake:

"I'm in the Altai mountains in Siberia now. It's the perfect studio!

Today I'm playing the opening track for the Khan Altay eclipse festival from
piggy, tracker on location in the most holy and powerful place in the whole
Russia :)"

Sometime I'm just baffled to where that little pig goes !

11:44 am - midi madness

sm0hm
Firstly, I have some midi issues with piggy!

This is either a bug in the W32 build  or it's just my old laptop acting up.

Ok, so the problem is that the midi sends works just fine, but they start 2 steps before the other chains.
I've tried using several different midi interfaces but the problem remains.

I would be glad if someone could check if they experience the same issue when trying to make w32 piggy spit midi.
Would be great if you could check for bugs too, Marc! :)

Secondly, I need a GP2x midi interface, and do believe me when I say that I can't build these things myself.
Obviously I'm looking for someone who can build one for me. I'm willing to pay whatever it costs.

So please contact me if you can build one,
